A solid brass toggle switch with the mechanical click that plastic switches lost decades ago. Flick it and you feel the mechanism engage rather than a membrane give way.

Solid brass throughout, not plated, so the finish wears rather than flaking. Each switch is hand finished, and the weight is the giveaway: 1.5 to 4 lbs depending on gang size, against a few ounces for a standard plastic plate.

UL certified, as stated by the maker. It replaces or installs onto an existing US standard electrical box, a job an electrician does in about five minutes.

Before you order: this is US-specification wiring. It fits standard US electrical boxes and US household voltage, and is not suitable for European or UK installations. Fitting a mains switch is electrical work, so have it installed by a qualified electrician and follow your local code.

Eight finishes and five gang sizes. Gang refers to how many switches sit behind one plate: a 1-gang controls one light, a 5-gang controls five from a single plate.
