A moka pot brews espresso style coffee on the stovetop with nothing but water, ground coffee and heat. This one pairs the classic faceted body with a wood look handle, and comes in five colors so it can sit out on the counter rather than live in a cupboard. Two sizes: 150ml for one or two servings, 300ml for around six espresso cups.

Fill the base with water, stopping below the safety valve, add medium fine grounds to the filter basket without packing them down, and brew on medium heat. When it starts to gurgle, take it off the heat and pour. It works on gas stoves, electric ceramic and electric heaters, though a heat conduction plate is needed on gas. It is not compatible with induction cooktops, so check your hob before ordering. Each pot is handmade, so slight scratches or unevenness on the surface are normal and do not affect how it brews.
