A knurled cylindrical knob in solid brass, on a smooth circular base. The ridged texture is machined into the metal rather than applied, so it grips reliably and does not wear smooth. Solid brass rather than plated, which means the finish ages instead of flaking.

It locks from the inside, with emergency access from the outside. That is the privacy function a bathroom or bedroom door actually needs: whoever is inside turns the lock, and the door can still be opened from the hallway if something goes wrong. It is not a keyed lock, so it is not for an entry door.

Three finishes, brass, black and antique brass. The base measures 2.2 inches across and stands 1.6 inches off the door face.
