The knob is the standard model: a knurled cylinder in zinc alloy, with the ridged texture machined into the metal rather than applied. It grips with wet or soapy hands, which is why knurling turns up on bathroom hardware.

Locking works from the inside with a twist knob. There is no keyhole on the outside face — the cover disassembles for emergency access with a key. Clean on the outside, but slower to open from outside if someone locks themselves in.
